Sxip Shirey and I have been rehearsing for our date together on August 10th at Lincoln Center Out of Doors in New York City. We’ll be joined by beatboxer Adam Matta and six of New York’s finest violinists as we open for Laurie Anderson at Damrosch Park Bandshell.
Yesterday, in my ‘studio’ at Mass MoCA (the south dressing room), as we realized that we hadn’t just ‘cut ourselves loose’ to the improvising muses while we’d been busy sharing and arranging tunes, we cued up and just rolled tape for a bit. We wanted to share it with you too. No overdubs, no editing, no mixing, just raw Sxip N Todd, live to two-track.
